Hello everyone!
My name is Olha. I’m a crochet pattern designer and the creator of this blog. I design original crochet patterns and have a deep love for Aran stitches, cables, and other bold, textured designs. I also want you to get to know me as a real person—not just a photo on a website.
I first tried crocheting when I was about 10 years old, and I’ve been in love with it ever since. I’ve always enjoyed learning new things, exploring patterns, playing with textures and colors. I remember looking enviously at stunning knit Aran sweaters and wondering, why can only knitting create that kind of beauty? What about those of us who love the hook?
One day, I picked up my crochet hook and decided to try creating something similar — and it worked! 😊
Since then, I’ve fallen in love with Aran-style crochet, cables, and sculptural textures. It’s hard to put into words the joy I feel when I run my fingers over a finished piece and can feel every stitch, every ridge, every shadow cast by those flowing lines. It feels like pure magic.
Here are a few more designs I made especially for my son.

And these are some of my absolute favorite patterns.

Here’s a photo of my very first Aran-inspired pattern.

Over time, I reworked many traditional knit cable patterns into crochet versions and even wrote my own book full of them.
I’ve always dreamed of sharing my passion and love for textured crochet with others. But life had its own plans.

Last year, my family and I came to the United States from Ukraine. We had to leave everything behind and escape the war—we could no longer live under constant shelling. America gave me a second chance: I learned English and completed the Crochet Pattern Writing Course from the American Crochet Association.

Since then, I’ve continued to learn and grow as a designer.

Now, I’m starting to create and share my own patterns, and I’ve launched this blog to spread my love for textured crochet. Through this space, I hope to connect with fellow makers, share my designs, teach, learn, discover, and just enjoy the amazing journey of crochet together.
My mission is to elevate crochet to a new level—making textured stitches, Arans, and cables more accessible, understandable, and inspiring for everyone. I hope to spark new ideas and creativity in every reader who visits this space.
